Pittsburg, PA, 1955. Sacerdote agustino estadounidense. Realizó sus estudios en la Universidad de Villanova, en la Catholic Theological Union de Chicago, en la Universidad de Oxford y en el Instituto Patrístico Augustinianum de Roma. Docente y Presidente de este último centro, imparte lecciones también en la Universidad Pontificia Lateranense de Roma. Según su especialidad, se ha prodigado en artículos sobre los Padres de la Iglesia, y en particular sobre san Agustín. Entre sus libros destacan Augustine and his critics (Londres, 2000), Augustine: Political writings (Cambridge, 2001), The Augustinian promotion of Justice and Peace (Roma, 2004), Christ and the just society in the thought of Augustine (Cambridge, 2004).
