Rev. Joseph Augustine Fitzmyer. Sacerdote jesuita, ordenado en 1938.. Especialista en Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento. Estudió la carrera en Loyola University de Chicago y después en Bélgica. Obtuvo su doctorado por la Universidad John Hopkins, además de otros títulos por el Instituto Pontificio Bíblico de Roma. Además de sus ocupaciones académicas, Fitzmyer ha sido colaborador de numerosas revistas y periódicos, y es autor de numerosísimos ensayos sobre Escritura, Cristología y catequesis de los que solamente damos unos ejemplos: Christological Catechism, A: New Testament Answers, The New Jerome Biblical commentary.
